大坪山山頂に東京湾入り口に向かって建てられ高さは56メートルで、1961年に宇佐美政衛が平和祈念と戦没者の慰霊を目的として建立した。テレビ、映画などのロケ現場として使われ、観音像の顔にマスクを掛ける番組や、映画『千里眼』『ゼイラム2』のロケに用いられた。
この観光地は実は観音像の窓から飛び降り自殺が後を絶たなかったことから心霊スポットとして有名になっている。
Built on the summit of Mt. Otsubo toward the entrance to Tokyo Bay, it is 56 meters high and was erected in 1961 by Masae Usami for the purpose of praying for peace and memorializing the war dead. It was used as a location for TV and movies, and was used for programs that put a mask on the face of Kannon and for the locations of the movies “Clairvoyance” and “Zeiramu 2.”
This tourist spot is actually famous as a psychic spot because it jumped from the window of the Kannon statue and committed suicide.
